If you’ve only work with computer graphics try to get some experience with miniatures and visa versa. Most people working behind the computer screen have no idea of the issues involved in the shooting process (‘and why didn’t they shoot that other element on the set’). The director may change his mind completely after you and your crew have spent a lot of time and effort finishing a shot or sequence. In actual fact there is a lot of latitude in where exactly to place the sensor – the important thing is that the location of the sensor on the subject doesn’t move around during capture. Knowing when it’s worth fighting for an extra 10 minutes on stage and when it’s not. Is an elaborate process or 20 extra elements worth it for a 2 second shot?
